Help us make the most out of our CRM! We’re looking for a volunteer to assess our current CRM system -- Salesforce -- and identify ways we can use it to meet our needs more effectively, including potential integrations with other tools we’re using and best practices for nonprofit use. We have the start of our wishlist and an outline of new protocols we'd like to put in place, but would like an expert to weigh in and help us optimize in ways we might not otherwise imagine for ourselves. Once the volunteer notes the recommended changes, we’d like a brief training session and/or documented guidelines to follow so that we can maintain the CRM going forward.

Through working with our organization on this task, a volunteer will help our mission in direct and immediately impactful ways. Our database has been the backbone of our donor outreach program for a decade, but different longterm users input data in unique, inconsistent, and utterly idiosyncratic ways. With a new team dedicated to getting the most out of our databases, we want to build a solid foundation (fixing errors or implementing best practices we're unaware of) and upon that solid foundation, create new and greater opportunities for data-driven outreach to our readers and donors. Thank you for considering helping us!

We have already selected a CRM -- Salesforce -- and are ready to share credentials with a volunteer. We’ll come prepared with details about the specific types of data we want to collect, our goals for using the CRM, and a list of any other tools or software we use.

Organization Mission

Through a print magazine, website, podcast, and live and virtual events, Commonweal fosters rigorous and reflective discussions about faith, public affairs, and the arts, centered on belief in the common good. Independent and lay-led, Commonweal is a bridge between the intellectual and active lives of lay Catholics who seek meaning and justice, inspiring people in their hopes for a more inclusive future for our church, politics, and culture. Founded in 1924, Commonweal is published by the nonprofit Commonweal Foundation for all readers who want to engage with the Catholic tradition in a context of justice, charity, and critical intelligence.
