Accounting Systems Set Up

We're looking for a volunteer with experience setting up a bookkeeping system and/or software from scratch! We have used Google Sheets in the past. We have an account with APD for our payroll; however, we only use it for one employee and not for recordkeeping or financial reporting.

You'll help us set up regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices by spending 2-4 hours with us over 4-5 weeks.
In our first meeting, we'll share a detailed description of our existing financial record-keeping and reporting systems.

In Phase 1 of the project, you'll help us organize our data into categories of projects and operating expenses, and share knowledge on specific expenses that may or may not need to be in specific categories.

In the second phase of our project, you will help us migrate our data over to our new software and help us set up our account administrator privileges for our users, and provide basic training on using the new system.

We ask that you make yourself available for 1 hour per week, for two weeks after the project, to address our questions as we adjust to the new software and systems.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission to effectively support grieving parents and provide our communities with violence prevention strategies by empowering our youth. This project will create a stable foundation for our organization to secure future funding and maintain a broader flow for operational expenses. This project will give a clear view of the financial flow needed as well as places we are able to redirect financial aid to.

We've identified two possible new accounting software programs that may be a good fit for our operational skillset. We have reviewed their guidelines on how to manage the system and run basic reports. We will manage the volunteer and the project ourselves, as well as designate a team member to assist with the management of the volunteer and the project.
