Design: Five "Badges" for Dog Trainers and Clients!
We're looking for someone to create our first five 'badges' (stickers) that our trainers and their clients will earn as they reach their training goals.
Stickers can be square, round, or die-cut. These stickers should be in a style similar to our logo, featuring line drawings, silhouettes, simple shapes, etc. Similar badges will one day be printed as patches for varsity-style jackets or similar, so you'll be setting the tone for future versions with these stickers! Each sticker will need two sizes: One for trainers that are no larger than 2"x2", and one for clients that is no larger than 4"x4". The one for clients should have "Free Dog Trainers" somewhere on the design to promote our nonprofit. The one for trainers is intended to be put on their water bottle as they collect badges throughout their training.
The (first) five badges are:
Leash Reactivity: Training goals usually include the dog choosing to walk away from another dog, or that the dog chooses to look at the handler when another dog is nearby.
Polite Greetings: Training goals usually include that the dog sits and shakes when greeting people.
Settle: Related training goals may include the dog laying down and relaxing on cue.
Play: Related training goals may include the dog and owner playing with a toy.
General Skills: Related training goals may include the dog in heel position, the dog touching their nose to the owner's hand, etc.
These badges may seem like small tokens of appreciation, but they are vital in contributing to our organization's overall culture. These stickers contribute to our volunteers' credibility as trainers with clients. They are tangible proof that this person helps people achieve their goals. They're also critically important for people to recognize their own successes with their dogs! Since we do not limit the number of times people can get support from us, people often accidentally 'move the goal posts' on themselves. They never recognize that they are reaching their goals! These stickers are evidence that they have indeed reached their goals, and remind them that it was Free Dog Trainers who helped them get there. (Hopefully encouraging them to become lifelong supporters or donors!)
We have a brand guide with a color pallet and details about our nonprofit's voice and messaging, (created by a Taproot volunteer!) Volunteers work directly with me, the founder and lead of the nonprofit.
