Copywriter for Climate Storytelling Campaign

My goal for this Taproot Project is to create a set of high-impact, emotionally resonant digital communications that amplify our clean energy and gender equity work in rural Ghana. We are looking for support with:

-Writing and editing 4–6 social media post captions
-Drafting or revising 2–3 email updates for our donor segments
-Creating short “Story of One” pieces (200–300 words) featuring people impacted by our initiatives

We will provide clear outlines, examples, and story content gathered from the field, along with a brand voice guide and onboarding support.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us tell powerful stories of transformation made possible through solar energy and clean cookstoves. These stories highlight women like Adiza in rural Ghana who now cook with clean air and organize other women to join the movement.

Clear, compelling communication drives donations, builds awareness, and brings more communities into the Sunrise Spectrum initiative—accelerating our mission of sustainable, community-led energy access across Africa.

My team and I have prepared for this project by collecting donor stories, organizing sample campaign content, and identifying priority communications needs for upcoming campaigns like Giving Tuesday. While we are still developing our full messaging calendar, we have a strong foundation of assets, story leads, and templates to work from.

Our Strategic Engagement Lead (Amber) will personally onboard the volunteer with access to our brand voice, storytelling framework, and collaboration tools like Google Docs and ClickUp. The content produced through this partnership will be used directly in our donor engagement and digital outreach efforts.
