Salesforce Assistance
We hope to gain a better understanding of how to utilize Salesforce to track our interactions with our ecosystem friends and partners. Our knowledge of Salesforce is quite limited, so we’re seeking guidance. We would like help to understand what’s possible, walk us through how to track relationships more effectively, or suggest simple ways to get started.
This project will directly support our mission by helping us deepen and sustain relationships across our ecosystem. Our work is rooted in connection, collaboration, and learning, and Salesforce can be a powerful tool to ensure we’re nurturing those relationships intentionally over time.
By improving how we track interactions with ecosystem friends and partners, we’ll be able to:
• Identify opportunities for collaboration and mutual support,
• Honor and follow up on commitments and conversations,
• Spot patterns and insights that inform more responsive and equitable strategies, and
• Strengthen trust and transparency in how we engage with our broader community.
Ultimately, this project is about making sure that the way we work reflects the values we hold, especially when it comes to building liberatory, relational ecosystems.
1. Clarify the Goal:
Start by clearly defining what we want to track in Salesforce—whether that’s meetings, partnerships, shared projects, or general touchpoints with our ecosystem friends.
2. Map Our Current Process:
Even with limited Salesforce knowledge, we’ll document how we currently track interactions (even if it’s informal or outside of Salesforce), so the volunteer understands our needs and gaps.
3. Lean on Expertise:
We’ll create space for the volunteer to share recommendations and best practices, and we’ll come with specific questions so we make the most of their time.
4. Start Small:
Rather than overcomplicating things, we’ll prioritize setting up a simple and scalable system in Salesforce—something we can build on as we grow more confident using the platform.
5. Assign a Point Person & Next Steps:
We’ll designate someone from our team to be the main contact for the project, keep notes, and follow through on next steps to ensure momentum isn’t lost.
6. Build for Sustainability:
Finally, we’ll create a simple guide or workflow for the team so that everyone can use Salesforce consistently, even after the initial setup support ends.
