The Pauli Murray Awards Foundation is seeking a Taproot volunteer to assist with finalizing critical elements of our website before our program and fundraising launch this fall. While the site is mostly designed and developed, there are two key areas that still need to be built out:

Priority 1: Giving Page / Donation Form Integration
We need support embedding and styling our Givebutter donation form within the existing site design. This includes ensuring the form is mobile-responsive, visually aligned with our brand, and accompanied by the correct copy and donation FAQ. Ideally, this page will also allow us to expand into recurring giving and peer-to-peer fundraising as the foundation grows.

Priority 2: Login Portal for Applications and Application Review
We are preparing to open applications for our flagship initiative—the Pauli Murray Awards: 40 Under 40 Black LGBTQ+ Honors. We need a login portal for applicants to submit materials and for reviewers (board/committee members) to securely view and score applications. We're open to custom solutions or the integration of third-party platforms like Submittable, Airtable, or Jotform, with branding and permissions layered in.

This volunteer project will support our ability to raise funds, manage programmatic outreach, and operate efficiently in our inaugural year.

This project is essential to launching the Pauli Murray Awards Foundation’s first year of programs and public fundraising. By helping us complete our Giving Page and Application Portal, a Taproot volunteer will directly support our mission to honor, invest in, and celebrate Black LGBTQ+ leaders across the country.

The Giving Page will power our ability to raise the funds needed to provide $1,000 grants to 40 honorees and offer leadership development through our PMA Cohort program. The Application Portal will allow us to reach changemakers from all backgrounds—artists, educators, activists, public servants—and offer them a path to national recognition, community, and support.

Volunteers on this project won’t just be writing code or embedding a form—they’ll be building the infrastructure that allows us to uplift underrepresented leaders, shift narratives, and create legacy. Their work will help make sure that when someone says, “I’ve never seen someone like me honored like this,” we can proudly say: You will now.

My team and I have prepared for this project by aligning internally on our goals, timeline, and design direction for the website. We’ve already completed the core site design, secured hosting, and finalized key content and brand assets—including typography, color palette, and tone. We have internal buy-in from both our Executive Director and Board of Directors, and we’ve identified specific platform tools (such as stripe for fundraising) that we are ready to implement with the volunteer’s help.
