Lifting Minorities is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering underserved minority students through mentorship, scholarships, financial literacy, and professional development programs. We are currently seeking a creative and motivated volunteer to support our mission by helping us elevate our online presence through engaging social media content.

As a Social Media Content Creator, you will use Canva to design branded, mission-aligned content that captures our programs, impact stories, donor appreciation, and upcoming campaigns. Your designs will play a crucial role in expanding our digital presence and strengthening our connection with our supporters.

Volunteer Responsibilities:
Design up to 12 social media posts using Canva (graphics and captions included)

Align content with the organization’s branding and messaging guidelines

Collaborate with the CEO to incorporate specific themes such as mentorship, scholarship opportunities, community partnerships, and donor impact

Create graphics tailored for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Help organize the designed content in a shared folder for easy scheduling and publishing

Ideal Volunteer Skills:
Strong graphic design skills, especially in Canva.

Understanding of visual storytelling and social media trends.

Familiarity with nonprofit branding or mission-driven organizations.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Bonus: experience writing short, compelling captions.

What You’ll Gain:
Make a direct impact by helping a small nonprofit grow its online community.

Use your creativity to amplify stories of resilience and opportunity.

Gain portfolio-worthy work while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Ready to help us lift the next generation of leaders? Join us and use your creativity for a cause that matters!

My team and I have prepared for this project by gathering our existing brand materials, identifying the list of content we're seeking, and organizing our content to date on the website and our social media pages. Our primary avenue for fundraising is through social media, providing an opportunity to have a significant impact.
