Photographer Needed for GRIP Honors Event (October 2)
The GRIP Training Institute is seeking a volunteer photographer to join us at our upcoming GRIP Honors fundraising event in Oakland, California, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5–9 PM.
GRIP transforms lives by helping incarcerated individuals develop emotional intelligence, heal trauma, understand victim impact, and end cycles of violence. As a volunteer photographer, you will help us achieve many things, including:
1. Spotlighting Human Transformation. By capturing images of our students, graduates, and community partners during events and program milestones, photographers help put a human face to the power of emotional intelligence, healing, and redemption.
2. Expanding Visibility. High-quality photography allows GRIP to share compelling, authentic moments across social media, websites, fundraising campaigns, and reports—helping more people understand and connect with our work.
3. Fueling Fundraising. Powerful images move people. Photos from our events and programs can inspire new donors, deepen connections with current supporters, and strengthen case-making for grant funding.
4. Empowering Storytelling with Dignity. With care and consent, volunteer photographers help us tell stories that honor the strength, courage, and growth of our participants—shifting the narrative from punishment to rehabilitation and possibility.
5. Building a Visual Archive for the Movement. Each photo becomes part of a growing library that supports long-term movement-building—used in campaigns, reports, trainings, and advocacy for systemic change.
In sum, your expertise will help GRIP “show the story,” not just tell it—amplifying transformation, building awareness, and advancing justice through the power of images.
As we grow our movement, we need a robust library of high-quality photos to share these stories, reach new audiences, and elevate our voice across social media, donor outreach, and community campaigns.
If you’re passionate about justice, storytelling, and capturing bold, healing-centered moments—we’d love to hear from you.
