Web Design & Architecture (Wix)
Specific tasks include:
-Designing a clean, modern, and accessible layout aligned with our branding.
-Creating consistent visual styles for key pages (home, about, programs, donate, events, blog/news).
-Collaborating with the UX/UI designer to translate user flows and wireframes into a cohesive design.
-Working with the developer to ensure that the design can be effectively implemented in Wix Studio.
-Supporting content placement and image selection for maximum visual impact.
The ultimate outcome will be a launch-ready design that our developer can fully implement before the end of the year, giving our organization a digital home that inspires, informs, and engages.
The Website Designer’s work will:
Create a welcoming digital space where students can find scholarships, mentorship, and educational resources.
Build visual pathways that guide donors and partners to understand our impact and contribute meaningfully.
Highlight the voices and stories of underrepresented students and physicians in an inspiring, accessible format.
Ensure our website design reflects equity, professionalism, and innovation — values at the core of our work.
By lending their expertise, the volunteer will know their designs are not just shaping a website — they are shaping a platform that opens doors for thousands of students, deepens donor confidence, and strengthens partnerships nationwide.
Secured internal buy-in from our leadership and board.
Gathered branding assets, copy drafts, photography, and program descriptions ready for design integration.
Coordinated with a UX/UI designer to provide wireframes and user flow guidance.
Engaged a website developer who will handle the technical build in Wix Studio once the design is finalized.
To set the designer up for success, we will:
Provide timely feedback and decisions to keep momentum.
Schedule weekly check-ins for alignment across all roles.
Designate a single point of contact for streamlined communication.
Ensure the final designs are handed off seamlessly to the developer for implementation.
This structured approach ensures the designer’s contributions directly shape the finished site and that their work will live on in a polished, functional website before year-end.
