Board Development

My goal for this Taproot Project is to create the infrastructure for a strong, structured, and engaged working board for Blessed on Purpose, a faith-based nonprofit that mentors young girls in confidence-building, healthy relationships, life skills, and college/career readiness.

We would like volunteer support with:
-Designing an effective board structure (roles, committees, responsibilities).
-Developing recruitment materials such as a board member application, role descriptions, and onboarding packet.
-Drafting board policies (bylaws, expectations, agreements).
-Creating a strategy for identifying and recruiting qualified, passionate board members.

This project will help ensure our organization has a clear governance foundation and the leadership capacity to grow and sustain our programs.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us establish the leadership and governance foundation needed to serve more young girls and families in our community.

My team and I have prepared for this project by outlining the mission, vision, and goals of Blessed on Purpose, and identifying areas where board involvement is critical—such as fundraising, community partnerships, and governance. We have already created some draft materials (application questions, expectations, and program descriptions) that can be refined with professional guidance.

We are committed to implementing all outcomes from this project immediately, including recruiting board members using the developed tools and launching our first official board orientation.
