We are seeking a volunteer with strong skills in RStudio or SAS to provide a cleaned, well-structured set of Excel/CSV files prepared for psychometric analysis. This will include documented cleaning steps, variable mappings, and basic validation checks. The volunteer will also provide recommendations to improve ongoing data management. Specific scope and timelines can be agreed upon during interview.
At Alsama Project, we believe every young refugee deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. Since 2020, we’ve transformed the lives of hundreds of teenagers in Lebanon by taking them from illiteracy to university readiness through our award-winning education programme.

Reliable, structured data will strengthen Alsama’s psychometric reporting and enable clearer measurement of learning outcomes. Better analysis will guide curriculum improvements, support funder reporting, and help ensure refugee students stay on track toward their personal and educational goals.
We will provide the raw datasets, context on G12++ variables and intended psychometric outputs, and a primary staff contact for regular check-ins. Our team is prepared to review intermediate outputs and implement the cleaned files in upcoming reporting. Details can be refined with the volunteer.

This volunteership also provides the opportunity to work with one of the world's leading thinkers on education psychometrics in Dr. Julie Miles.

Alsama runs education centres, sports hubs, and social enterprises for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Typically, refugee children are left behind by the educational system. They miss years of schooling, and there’s simply no way for them to “catch up”. 
Our cutting edge curriculum condenses the traditional 12-year education into just 6 years. Allowing our students to stay on track with the trajectory every teenager deserves: one towards their personal goals, dreams and aspirations. It’s not just about education. It’s about instilling our students with a sense of purpose and self-worth as they work towards realising their aspirations.
