AI Policy Development

We would like to partner with a skilled volunteer to develop a Project AI Policy for our organization. This policy will guide how we use artificial intelligence responsibly, ethically, and effectively in our work.

Specifically, we are hoping for support with:
-Reviewing best practices in AI governance and responsible use of AI.
-Helping us identify potential risks and opportunities for applying AI in our projects.
-Drafting clear, practical guidelines that balance innovation with safeguards for transparency, equity, and accountability.
-Creating a concise policy document that can be shared with staff, partners, and stakeholders.

Our goal is to ensure that our organization can embrace AI tools while remaining aligned with our mission, values, and commitments to justice and equity.

This project is ideal for someone with experience in AI policy, governance, or ethics, and an interest in helping a mission-driven nonprofit navigate this evolving landscape.

Volunteers who contribute will be helping us set clear standards for innovation that aligns with our values, safeguards vulnerable populations, and promotes transparency and accountability. Their expertise will directly support our ability to make thoughtful, responsible decisions about AI, ensuring that our work benefits people and the planet.

We’ve already secured internal buy-in from our leadership team and key staff who will be involved in implementing the AI policy. Once completed, the AI policy will be actively implemented across our organization, guiding staff, partners, and stakeholders in responsible AI use. We’ll provide ongoing context, timely feedback, and clear points of contact, so the volunteer can make a meaningful, tangible impact in a short amount of time.
