We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help Technology for Families in Need (TechFIN) develop a practical fundraising strategy.

The volunteer will work to assess current efforts, identify growth opportunities, and create an actionable plan that includes campaigns, board action items, timelines, and metrics for success. Guidance on integrating Kindsight to enhance donor engagement and tracking will be a key component. The goal is to provide our board with clear, actionable steps to strengthen fundraising and expand TechFIN’s impact.
This project will directly support TechFIN’s mission of providing technology and resources to families in need by strengthening our ability to raise funds and build sustainable partnerships. By helping us develop a clear, actionable fundraising strategy, the volunteer will enable our team and board to expand device distribution, programs, and workshops for underserved communities. Their work will have a tangible impact, helping ensure more children and families gain access to the technology they need for education, skill building, and connection. Volunteers will see that their expertise translates into real-world outcomes, amplifying TechFIN’s reach and creating meaningful opportunities for families across our communities.
To set this project up for success, TechFIN has secured strong internal support from leadership and the board, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities. We have gathered relevant materials, including past fundraising efforts and board notes, so the volunteer can quickly understand our current efforts. Access to Kindsight will be provided as needed. Executive Director will be available for sessions to provide context, review recommendations, and make timely decisions. The final strategy and materials will be implemented directly by our team to guide fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, and progress tracking.

Organization Mission

TechFIN helps narrow the digital divide by addressing a major hurdle to computer hardware ownership: its cost. By collecting used laptops and desktop computers, in bulk, from corporations, we are able to revitalize these machines and distribute them to low-income households at no cost to them. Our solution is sustainable, scalable, and cost-effective.
