A complete redesign of the organization’s WordPress (Vivi) site that implements updated branding and required integrations. Volunteers will utilize the provided content and multimedia to create a simple, practical, and accurate site with configured integrations. Specific integrations and page priorities will be discussed with volunteers.
A clear, on-brand website will serve as the cornerstone of MLP’s outreach, making programs and resources easier to find for schools, educators, families, and partners. Improved visibility and usability will help MLP better reach Title I schools and support referrals, partnerships, and community access to mindfulness services. It will also provide us with an updated and “professional” look for our external audiences, including donors. Our goal is that the quality of our website reflects and communicates the impact of our programming.
We have all content and multimedia assets ready and are seeking volunteers to set up the Vivi theme, apply branding, configure necessary integrations, and ensure a responsive and accessible design. Our team will be available for regular feedback and to implement the final site. The exact scope and timelines will be defined with volunteers during the kickoff.

Organization Mission

Mindful Life Project (MLP) promotes the mental and behavioral health of students, educators, and families in elementary and middle schools through mindfulness-based direct service programs. By transforming schools—often sources of stress and trauma for students from marginalized backgrounds—into safe and supportive spaces for healing and connection, MLP fosters compassionate and inclusive learning environments for all. MLP intentionally partners with Title I elementary and middle schools in communities of color and low-income areas to remove barriers and address disparities our students and their families often face when accessing mental and behavioral health services. 93% of our students are youth of color, 76% are socioeconomically disadvantaged, and 40% are English Learners. Recognized nationally as a leader in our field, MLP is the largest organization in the U.S. dedicated to providing mindfulness-based direct service programs to students in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade in Title I schools. MLP employs 50 full-time staff members and serves over 20,000 students from 34 schools across 12 districts in 13 cities and eight counties in Northern and Central California each week.
