Project Overview
Treasure Island Sailing Center (TISC) is the only community sailing center in San Francisco and serves a diverse group of children and adults at the best location on SF Bay. Development on Treasure Island has created multiple challenges that require new sources of funding.
We'd like a volunteer to create a 3-5 minute video for fundraising using some existing footage and recording additional video. New interviews of kids, parents, adult users, and staff can be done in person on Treasure Island or could be done over Zoom.
What could be more fun than videoing kids learning about their environment by sailing? Often it's their first trip ever on a boat. TISC has ongoing sailing classes and environmental STEM programs for kids. Adults and disabled sailors also participate.
Video footage from prior years is available for editing into new marketing videos. It is possible for this project to be done remotely with other TISC staff doing videos and interviews, but it would probably be more rewarding to do it in person.
Nonprofit Overview
We create opportunities for people to learn and grow through sailing by providing facilities, sailing instruction, and access to the water for people of all socio-economic backgrounds, abilities, and skill levels, from novice to Olympian.
Our vision is to provide San Francisco with a first-rate community sailing center that provides universal access to and lifelong connections with the Bay. To serve ALL children in our community and to teach them more than sailing.
