Translation: English to Vietnamese

We’re seeking a volunteer that can translate our outreach materials into Vietnamese. We distribute physical materials such as flyers and digital materials such as social media copy in English only at this time. Content you will translate includes information about participating in programs, ordering groceries, doubling SNAP dollars, completing demographic surveys, giving feedback about food access, and more.

We operate primarily in the Greater New Orleans area, which has a significant amount of Vietnamese American households and families. For many of these individuals, especially senior populations that we are trying to reach, Vietnamese is their primary or only language. We want to be able to provide understandable information about how to access fresh and nutritious grocery delivery, so that we can create food access for all. Currently none of our very small staff is able to speak Vietnamese, and we don’t want to use AI due to the high potential for mistranslation and tone issues.

We have a 3 page document that lists key sentences and phrases that we use to communicate about our services. An additional 4 pages of survey materials can be translated if time permits. The materials for which these will be used are templated and ready to go.
