Project Overview

We seek a web designer to design the structure and design for our nonprofit website, currently hosted on A2 Hosting and created using WordPress.

We would like the website (currently at topportunities.org) to reflect our flagship project website (cfdinstitute.com). We have need strongly communicate our mission, provide visibility for our operational projects (Cognitive Function Development Institute (CFDI), Cognitive Function Development Services (CFDS), and Transformational Outcomes Analysis Systems (TOAS)), and instill a positive first-impression with visitors. Our target audience consists of a wide span of mental healthcare providers (community mental health centers to private practitioners), other healthcare providers (e.g., occupational therapists, pediatritions), grantmakers, and clients or their responsible parties (e.g., parents). We can provide necessary text, images, and other media (e.g., 3D videos, other video clips, etc.). The project's deliverable is a map of site architecture and high-fidelity wireframes that a future volunteer or staff member can implement.

Our work will take place over multiple meetings in six to nine weeks. In our first meeting, the volunteer should interview us about our desired features, our web capabilities, and our technical expertise. Then, they'll synthesize the information into a requirements briefing. We'll engage in various check-ins, where one or more key members of our team will provide feedback. The volunteer will audit our current sites to understand our present messaging and provide a basis for improvements.

The mission of Transformational Opportunities is to "create transformational opportunities for individuals" - particularly those with demonstrable financial need. Currently, we are fulfilling our mission through three operational programs: CFDI - which trains therapists in Cognitive Function Development Therapy (CFDT), a modality that effectively delivers clinically applied neuroscience nonpharmaceutically, noninvasively, and nonintrusively; Cognitive Function Development Services - which provides direct client-facing CFDT to individuals aged 6 to 85+ who are otherwise treatment resistant to traditional mental health modalities; and TOAS - which provides, among other services, quantitative analysis of objective client assessments.

Currently, we are expanding on two fronts. Most importantly, we are expanding geographically to provide more direct service opportunities for clients and individuals desiring to become therapists (free of charge). Secondly, we are increasing our efforts to build relationships with grantmakers to (1) provide crucial underwriting for clients with demonstrable financial need (e.g., survivors of human trafficking), (2) to provide more opportunities to train individuals as CFDT therapists free of charge (e.g., those who are overcoming significant life challenges or single parents), and (3) to underwrite research opportunities to evaluate the evidence of CFDT's efficacy as a mental healthcare modality.

Improving our nonprofit's website is critical for our ability to effectively communicate our mission to our key constituents. Consequently, it would be our honor to provide visibility and recognition to the volunteer commensurate with the contemplated project and deliverables. We have already thought about and are prepared to brief you about our current website platform, budget restrictions for the build, our branding collaterals and norms, and information about our stakeholder groups and target audiences. The volunteer will have access to our existing WordPress sites, including transformedtraining.org.
