Community Programs Passport Design
Our goal is to secure a Taproot volunteer help design/create a "passport" that attendees at CommUNITY Outreach Day can get stamped at each program booth or activity they visit to aid in encouraging exploration of diverse community programs. Each participant will receive a Community Programs Passport upon arriving at CommUNITY Outreach Day. Attendees who collect a certain number of stamps in their Community Programs Passport Book can win prizes or entry into a raffle.
Your assistance in creation of the Community Programs Passport will make a lasting impact towards improving quality of life, creating awareness, promoting resiliency, and is a demonstration of collective action, all of which align with our mission. The CommUNITY Programs Passport Book encourages participant exploration of diverse community resources and service providers. The passport booklet is a lasting resource filled take-away that will serve as a beautiful reminder of the event, which will be held annually on the first Saturday of June during National CPR & AED Awareness Week.
CommUNITY Out Reach Day innovative features include:
• A Chance to Be Seen Variety Show - celebrates local talent and provides entertainment.
• Family Fun Zone - attracts families and promotes child-friendly community initiatives.
• Interactive Training and Workshops - provides practical knowledge and hands-on activities.
• Resiliency and Emergency Preparedness Fair: Showcase organizations and resources that support community resilience
Why CommUNITY Outreach Day?
Syracuse ranks among the worst cities in the country for child poverty, with rates as high as 46%. Poverty often leads to limited access to essential services like healthcare, food, housing, and education, and results in high unemployment and drop-out rates. Economic hardship diminishes resident’s time, energy, and resources for civic participation, leading to social fragmentation and isolation. The CommUNITY Outreach Day offers a solution by including a cultural event as a draw that fosters engagement, social unity, connection; and encouraging active involvement despite economic challenges.
We hope you will say yes to create a passport to better quality of life?
Our team has already secured buy-in from a number of sponsors and are in the process of selecting the organizations that will have program booths at CommUNITY Outreach Day, which will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025. We plan to distribute informational materials to at least 300 residents and achieve at least 200 engagements at informational booths on the day of the event. We will partner with 10 local organizations to provide information and materials and use social media and local advertising to reach the target audience, thereby increasing community knowledge and access to local services and improving overall community well-being, quality of life.
Past Success:
On June 1, 2024, FORCE partnered with Onondaga Lodge #32, Salt City Chapter #22 Prince Hall Temple, and Muhammad Study Group of Syracuse to sponsor the first CommUNITY Outreach Day. Additionally, we collaborated with a number of local agencies and non-profits to provide informational tables. We aim to continue these collaborations and are actively seeking additional businesses and merchants to build partnerships that offer mutual benefits and support.
