Grant Proposal Editing and Finalize Funding Request for Youth Mental Health!
We are seeking a skilled volunteer to support Peer Minds in completing the preliminary application form for the Tow Foundation, a key opportunity that could unlock essential funding for our youth mental health programs. This project involves:
Reviewing the Tow Foundation’s funding priorities and guidelines.
Collaborating with us to develop thoughtful and mission-aligned responses to the preliminary application form.
Helping shape a clear, compelling narrative that communicates Peer Minds’ qualifications, impact, and readiness for funding.
The volunteer will work closely with our founder to co-develop content and may be asked to provide light editing and feedback on draft responses. This is not a broad grant strategy engagement—it’s a focused, hands-on effort to help us put our best foot forward in a real-time funding opportunity.
Peer Minds is dedicated to supporting the mental health and leadership development of Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian (MENASA) youth—an often-overlooked population in mental health services. We offer peer support and mentorship, community workshops, and culturally rooted mental health education for young people navigating stigma, identity, and systemic barriers.
Securing funding from the Tow Foundation would be a game-changer. It would allow us to expand access to therapy services, scale our mentorship program, and build a sustainable infrastructure to support long-term impact. This project will help us take a vital first step in securing that support.
By helping us shape our responses for this foundational grant opportunity, the volunteer will play a direct role in amplifying youth voices, breaking cycles of stigma, and increasing access to culturally competent mental health resources.
To ensure a successful collaboration, we have already:
Identified the Tow Foundation as a mission-aligned funder and reviewed their application materials.
Gathered key documents and content outlining Peer Minds’ mission, programs, community impact, and strategic goals.
Scheduled internal time to fully onboard the volunteer with a one-on-one session introducing our work, our story, and our aspirations for this grant.
Built a shared document environment to streamline collaboration and edits.
Additionally, our founder—who will serve as the main point of contact—is fully committed to this project and available to provide timely feedback and content as needed. We plan to use the volunteer’s input to finalize and submit the preliminary application, and then carry their insights into the full proposal if invited to move forward.
