Volunteer Handbook Development

We are looking for a volunteer who can develop an volunteer handbook . We're hoping to find a partner with a background in HR and/or operations to improve transparency and accountability by clarifying our employees’ legal rights and our policies, benefits, and other expectations for performance and conduct in a new or revised employee handbook. This project will contain the following activities:

-Conducting an audit of our existing policies including reviewing our existing materials and asking any clarifying questions
-Identify policies that we should modify and any new policies or areas that should be addressed and included
-Present a detailed outline of a new handbook
-Finalize the handbook after receiving feedback from our team

At the International Girls Academy, we believe that empowered girls become empowered women—and that transformation starts with a strong, united community of support. This project is key to helping us build that community.

By helping us create a comprehensive and inspiring Volunteer Handbook, you’ll play a direct role in strengthening the backbone of our organization: our volunteers. This resource will help onboard new volunteers, align them with our mission, and give them the tools, expectations, and confidence they need to make a meaningful impact from day one.

A well-designed handbook will ensure that every volunteer—whether they’re mentoring a girl, supporting a workshop, managing events, or helping behind the scenes—understands their role, feels valued, and is prepared to contribute in ways that are both effective and personally fulfilling.

Your work will directly support our mission by improving the consistency, quality, and impact of our programs. With your help, we’ll be able to scale our efforts more efficiently, maintain strong volunteer engagement, and ultimately reach more girls with the support and mentorship they deserve.

This isn’t just about a document—it’s about building the foundation for a global movement of people ready to champion girls' leadership, education, and empowerment.

To prepare, we've designated a team member to oversee the project. We'll provide you with our existing Employee Handbook (if applicable), internal communications regarding employment policies, and any other employment policies that we have in place. The volunteer should expect to spend 15-20 hours over 4-5 weeks.
